If you were a previous Varo Money customer and made the move with us to Varo Bank, we’ve been automatically transferring your direct deposits to your new Varo Bank account. Those automatic transfers are ending July 31, 2021. After that date, any deposits received to your old bank account will be returned to the sender. If this happens, contact the IRS on how to retrieve the payment using another method. Our customer service team won’t have further information about the status of your payments.
If you haven’t yet updated your bank account information with the IRS, you’ll want to update it as soon as possible (before July 31, 2021) to ensure the IRS sends your payment to your new Varo Bank Account (it’ll have a routing number of 124303201). You can update your bank account information with the IRS for monthly payments beginning with the August payment using the IRS Child Tax Credit Update Portal.
See How do I find my routing number and account number? for more information on where to find your bank account details.
If you opened a new Varo Bank Account without following the automated steps in the old Varo Money app and your old bank account has been closed, any payments received will be sent back to the sender for payment using another method. It’s best to contact the IRS on how to retrieve the payment using another method. Our customer service team won’t have further information about the status of your payments.
